Hartside Pass – Cumbria

The Hartside Pass in Cumbria links the village of Melmerby and Alston. The A686 road climbs the Hartside Pass to a height of 1904 ft making it a spectacular drive as you climb up in to the north Pennines. At the top there are magnificent views across the Solway Firth to Scotland. The road continues to the town of Alston, England's highest market town. Map
